History

An alpine hotel with its impressive past: Hotel Fex is a tresure of alpine tourism. It was built in the 1850s and was originally part of the health spa complex in St. Moritz. Around 1900 it was taken apart and transported piece by piece to the Fex valley by horse-drawn vehicles and reconstructed on its present beautiful place. For 60 years the Hotel Fex was posession of the same family.

In May 2010 Dr. Marc and Lotte Bär-Schilder bought it and they want to keep it a traditional house. In the next few years slightly renovations are planned. After the restore the Hotel Fex become its former glory.

Enjoy Fex's tranquility: When you look out of the room at the marvelous mountain landscape with its brillianty sunlit glacier and snowfields. In the summer you'll enjoy the flowery meadows and its animals. Each room is designed in harmony to our nature. 13 rooms have their own or bath/toilet and two room with shared bath or shower/toilet.

Hiking and wonder world

The Fex Valley is a tributary valley of the Upper Engadine and streches for a total lenght of 10 kilometers off the small town of Sils. Hotel Fex is situated six kilometers up the valley. It is the last house, except of a neighbouring farm. Since 1954 there is a nature and landscape protection. The gouverment plan the development of the entire valley., therefor you cannot find any constructions that destroy the orignal charm. Only the local residents drive by car. Our uniqueness will please you.
