Since 2004, more than 50 historic hotels and inns in Switzerland have joined to form the marketing cooperation Swiss Historic Hotels. With their genuine historic substance, the hotels offer an incomparable richness of experience and Swiss Historic Hotels is established as a strong brand.
With our own activities and in close cooperation with our partner Switzerland Tourism, we appear on the market and pursue a clear marketing strategy.
All Swiss Historic Hotels meet the following criteria for membership:
- Those building complexes are considered historic whose main building has existed for at least 30 years and is of architectural historical significance.
- The hospitality business in the historic building has been established for a representative period of time.
- The building and its surroundings, rooms, furnishings, lighting, etc. are predominantly based on the historical original and create a high quality of experience.
- Conversions were/are usually supervised by the heritage conservation or related organisations.
- The establishments are characterised by a high quality of service in all areas, in keeping with the category.
Before admission, each establishment is examined individually and with a detailed catalogue of criteria on the building, exterior and interior, as well as the quality of service.
