Switzerland Tourism has been the main marketing partner of Swiss Historic Hotels since 2006. Thanks to this successful partnership, the entire cooperation is integrated into the accommodation marketing of Switzerland Tourism.

The branch association of the Swiss hotel industry represents the interests of Switzerland's accommodation establishments and campaigns for them on a political and social level.

The hotel historian Roland Flückiger-Seiler provides information on historic hotels and their history and makes information on historic hotels and Swiss tourism history available to all interested researchers.

Since 1997, the ICOMOS jury has awarded "The Historic Hotel of the Year" and "The Historic Restaurant of the Year" for the deliberate dialogue between the hotel or restaurant industry and historic buildings.

The foundation, founded in 2008, has set itself the goal of preserving Swiss cultural assets in the area of the hotel industry and tourism, archiving them professionally and making them accessible to the interested public.
